Ethics and consent in the world of neural networks: who is responsible for created images?
I was talking with a friend about AI image generation and we couldn’t agree on one thing — who’s actually responsible if someone creates a fake image of another person? Like, is it the app, the user, or just “the internet” in general? I get that tools themselves are neutral, but when people use them in the wrong way, someone ends up hurt. It’s a weird gray area that I don’t think the laws have fully caught up with yet.

That’s a good question, and yeah, the lines are super blurry. I’ve played around with a few AI tools myself, including https://undress.app/, and I noticed how much emphasis they put on user responsibility — basically, “don’t misuse it.” But honestly, that doesn’t stop everyone. I think developers should share part of the responsibility by building in safeguards, but at the end of the day, it’s still on the user not to cross ethical lines.
