At Sonshine Station Preschool, we are proud to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that provides a strong foundation for our students' success in their elementary school years. Our unique program incorporates a variety of educational theories and approaches with a developmentally appropriate curriculum that emphasizes experiential learning. At Sonshine Station Preschool, students also grow their faith in our Christian-centered environment.
We strive to meet the needs of the whole child. We plan activities that encourage growth in social and emotional learning, as well cognitive skills, language and literacy development, mathematics, science, creative arts, and fine and large motor skills. During each session, children experience planned learning activities in both small and large groups, as well as one-on-one activities with their teachers.

Our Mission
Sonshine Station Preschool is dedicated to providing early education in a loving, Christian-centered environment to the children of our community and to nurturing and supporting parents in the discipleship of their children. We seek to provide a Christian community where children can discover a loving God and grow in faith as they become lifelong learners. Our purpose is to provide a nurturing environment that will allow children to ask questions, explore answers, and creatively solve problems as they grow emotionally, physically, creatively, socially, intellectually, and spiritually.
You can feel confident in our facility that is licensed and regulated by Iowa Department of Human Services. Sonshine Station has also maintained the highest certification of 5 STARS through Iowa Quality Rating Systems (QRS) to provide the best in early childhood education.
Classes Offered
Preschool Class
3 & 4 Year Old's - Contact us to reserve a spot on our waitlist.
The three year old class is an introductory preschool year for children who will not be entering TK or Kindergarten the following year. The three year old class is held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Children must be three years old by September 15 of the current school year to enroll in this class. The staff to student ratio does not exceed a 1:10 ratio as required by the Iowa Department of Human Services, with a maximum class size of 18 students.
The cost of this class is $110/ month.
Pre-K Class
4 & 5 Year Old's- Only a few openings left! Contact us TODAY to reserve your child's spot.
The Pre-K class is for children who are intending to attend TK or Kindergarten the following year. Sessions are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:00-11:30 a.m. each week. Children must be four years old by September 15 of the current school year to enroll in this class. The staff to student ratio does not exceed 1:12 as required by the Iowa Department of Human Services, with a maximum class size of 20 students.
The cost of this class is $130/ month.
Transitional Kindergarten
4 & 5 Year Old's- This class opens depending on enrollment interest on an annual basis.
The Transitional Kindergarten class is for children who are intending to attend Kindergarten the following year. Sessions are held on Monday through Friday mornings from 9:00-11:30 a.m. each week. Children must be four years old by September 15 of the current school year to enroll in this class. The staff to student ratio does not exceed 1:12 as required by the Iowa Department of Human Services.
The cost of this class is $180/ month.

Our Team
Sonshine Station Preschool is honored to have one of the most exceptional teams in the industry. Each teacher goes through comprehensive training, ensuring the entire staff has extensive experience in early childhood education. All of our staff are trained in CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions and Mandatory Reporting.

Welcome! I'm Emily Stephas and I am so excited to be directing and teaching at Sonshine Station Preschool. I am a Buena Vista University graduate. This is my second year teaching at Sonshine Station. I live in the country in Bronson with my husband Rick and our 3 children: Leighton (11), Beau (9) & Garret (6). Our family has been a part of this wonderful preschool community for 8 years! I enjoy Hawkeye sports, chocolate, nature, bike riding, and spending time at the lake.
